The British Museum is a Great Way to Spend a Rainy Afternoon
A few weekends ago I was in the middle of a shopping trip in Covent Garden when the heavens opened up. Being a decent walk away from the tube or piazza I decided it was a good idea to head north away from the crowds. I found myself in Bloomsbury with nowhere to go then I remembered the great British Museum I had visited many years ago as a child. I figured the Great Court would be the perfect place to wait out the rain and grab a cup of coffee. After it became apparent that the rain is not going to stop in the near future I began to wander around the many rooms of historic collections. It was fascinating to see so many ancient cultures and the tools and artefacts they used in everyday life. In the end, I’m really glad the rain forced me to have a cultural day.
