What’s On Your Front Porch?
Rocking chairs have been soothing tired bones and comforting unhappy babies for ages. They have become almost an icon in our culture. A place where children gather when stories are told. Or the perfect spot to cuddle in on a rainy night.Every front porch seemed to have at least one or two rocking chairs at one time. If Mom was sitting there when you got home long after curfew on a friday night, it may not have been as comforting when you heard the creek of the wood on the old porch.Any way you look at it, sometime in your past, chances are, there are a few rocking chairs there somewhere! If not, maybe it’s time to pick up an old, wooden rocking chair from your local consignment shop or antique dealer, give it a few of your personal touches and start making a few new memories of your own.
