Some Signs and Symptoms After Ingesting Food Infected With Salmonella

There are all sorts of signs and symptoms that will help a person determine whether or not they may have eaten food that contained salmonella.  The most common symptoms are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps.  However, fevers and headaches may also occur.  The symptoms will usually start showing up within three days after eating the contaminated food. The problem is that many different illnesses can cause symptoms such as these, and it can be hard to tell that it is being caused by salmonella.  That’s why doctors will often times take a stool sample and test it.  It can then be treated, and hopefully there will be no long-term effects.
