Rotary phase converter information
A rotary phase converter works in a very interesting way. Let me show you how. the conversion of single phase electricity into three phase current is essential if your tools will not run on anything less, but your workshop is supplied with only single phase. And let’s face it, most of us have workshops in the suburbs where this power is almost universal. This voltage goes into one side of the rotary converter and onto a rotating, three phase induction motor. In the motor there are three terminals and the voltage flows across them. As it moves over the first two, the motor turns. then, when the third terminal moves by 120 degrees a current is induced. So now you have three phase electricity. That is moved out of the converter in to the motor you are powering. And that is the workings of the three phase converter.
