I am going to be putting a band together soon! I have written several lyrics already and my friend plays the drums and sax. I am just in need of an easy electric guitar lesson and maybe a backup singer. We plan to start off playing locally and then start checking the hot spots in Los Angeles. I know it will not be easy but me and my friend have raw talent and we are determined to make this happen. My Dad even thinks we are going to make it big! He has even offered us his van so that we don’t have to rent a car to get around Los Angeles.

I imagine everyone connects songs to the events in their life, especially dating and romance.  I do that, too.  The difference is that the music of my life has mostly been jazz and the blues.  My father was a musician who loved the blues guitar, so those soothing sounds always feel like home to me.  The family relaxed to bluesy sounds as I grew up, and I even had a jazz reception for my wedding.  Now that my own family is growing up I notice that my own little ones love to fall asleep to the same comforting sounds which had been such a part of my life.
